Our History
The Big Scoop Family Restaurant was established in 1974 by Jake and Sylvia Stephen
It was originally a dairy treat building which was purchased in Parker’s Cove

By 1980 a new building was built with a small seating area inside but still used paper plates and plastic cutlery
In 1985 a large addition was added for a dining room and full serving staff started
In 1988 another addition was added to the opposite side of the restaurant to house a walk-in cooler, freezer, an office and storage space
Jake and Sylvia retired in 1993 and sold the business. Since then there have been three new owners Ed Reagh, Elizabeth & David Burns, and the current owners Angie & Greg Cress
